My Days in New York City

Dear Family

How are you all? I’m great. As you know I am travelling the world and right now I am in New York City. I got here two days ago and I have been so busy I just didn’t get a chance to write to you. The plane food wasn’t great mushy peas and dry beef. Dessert was great though a fudge brownie with strawberries. Yesterday I went on a boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty. It was amazing although a seagull stole my sandwich while I was taking photos. I am staying in a hotel beside Starbucks so I can grab a quick coffee when I pass by. Handy am I right? I love when night-time approaches because the stars that appear in the galaxy coloured sky look as if they are getting brighter by the second. Let me tell you something that you will not believe. Yesterday I was in Starbucks enjoying a nice cup of coffee when a kind-looking lady came wandering over to me and said that she knew me. Feeling confused I said, “Are you sure?”. She said that she used to work with you, Mam but she had to move here. It’s a small world, isn’t it? I asked her how she knew it was me and she said that I look exactly like you, Mam. She said her name is Ellen if that is familiar to you, Mam. I have so much more to tell you all. Hope all is well at home.

I will be back before you know it.

Love From Caoimhe O Halloran
