Finally Home

Dear Mom and Dad,

It has been a while since I have written to you now and I wanted to talk to you. I tried calling you the other day but there was no signal. How are you doing?  I arrived in Barcelona and then drove up to Argelès-sur- Mer. It was a long drive but I made it safely. I’ve been here two weeks now and the weather has been amazing. It’s been very hot but we’ve been going swimming nearly everyday now. It only rained once but it was still so warm. Marie has been a great host while I’m here and I hope to repay her one day if she decides to come to Ireland. How is Clodagh? Marie has a little dog called Coco and she would love him. He is so cute!  We went sightseeing yesterday and we went on a mountain climb and then off to see a beautiful castle that is nearly 500 years old. My legs are so stiff though after all the walking but it was ok because we went off the pool again afterwards. Marie has also treated me to a lovely restaurant and the food was out of this world. You would have loved it, mom!  We went to a holiday camp and they had all sorts of fun things to do there. They had a water park with slides, pools and even a bouncy castle on the water! It was truly amazing. They even had mini golf carts that you could rent and then drive them around the camp as well as bicycles. We’ve been staying in Marie’s house. It is a very big house. They have five bedrooms with an en-suite in every room, a large kitchen and sitting room, and a very big pool. They also have a mini basketball court and a mini golf course. They have given me my own bedroom and it is decorated so nicely. They have such great taste! We played a couple of games of mini golf in their golf course and I won twice. Emma is very good at playing sports! She plays golf, soccer, swimming and basketball. I don’t know how she does it! She also showed me her school and it ginormous compared to my school! They have their own swimming pool at her school as well as courts for every sport.

They are being so kind to me and I love it here, but not as much as home.

See you soon!

Love, Laoise
