scoil mhuire, Corofin Co. Clare

Hi Mam and Dad

I hope you are keeping good. I flew into Cairo Airport two weeks ago and the first thing I noticed is that it is roasting and I as still wearing that coat nanny got me last Christmas. The first thing I wanted to do was to visit the pyramids. They were amazing! I was chatting to an old lad and his accent sounded familiar and it turns out he was from Clare! A few days later I rid a camel from the hostel I was staying in down to the river Nile. The water was really dirty and the worst thing was I saw a few locals drinking it so I gave them whatever change had left over in my pocket so they could buy clean water in the nearest shop. Some of their food I’m, not a big fan of although their fruit is really nice, much better than Irelands. My best experience so far, however, has to be bungee jumping over the Nile although when I finished it turns out my wallet had been stolen.

Luckily I had my passport in my pocket or else I mightn’t be coming back.

Looking forward to seeing you.

From Tadhg
